In 1942, a man called Reinhard Heydrich called a Nazi meeting At Wannsee, just outside Berlin. This meeting became known as the infamous Wannsee Conference. In total, fifteen people attended (one of them was Heydrich himself), including seven secretaries.
Eichmann's List In preparation for the meeting, Eichmann made a list of the numbers of Jews in different countries in Europe. You might notice that some countries have 'Judenfrei' written beside them. This obviously meant that all the Jews in that country were already eliminated. The list served as an important base for the conference. The conference lasted only 90 minutes, but some important decisions were made. Although the death camps were already agreed on, this conference allowed them to be discussed in great detail. The participants did not think of it as important at the time, but this conference completed preparation for genocide. The language used was deliberately mild in order to avoid controversy, and the final solution to the Jewish problem was cemented.
